My name is Matt. I’m interested in using mathematical ideas to answer all sorts of different questions. Two topics I’m particularly interested at the moment are network science and voting systems. You can find more information in the Research tab at the top of the page.
If you are a student who is looking to do research, feel free to poke around this site, look at some of the papers I have written, and send me an email expressing your interest. I’d be happy to talk with you.
Background
I earned a Ph.D. in mathematics from Dartmouth College under Feng Fu for my thesis titled, “Evolutionary Dynamics of Collective Action Problems.” From 2022 to 2024, I was a postdoctoral associate at Yale University working with Nicholas Christakis in the Yale Institute for Network Science and the Human Nature Lab. I spent the 24-25 academic year as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the College of the Holy Cross. Now, I am an assistant professor of mathematics at Colby College.
